Investing at the
intersection of reproductive and economic justice

building just
systems of care,
one investment at a time

Across the country, ecosystems of midwives and birth workers are doing more than delivering babies—they’re anchoring reproductive care in community.

These providers offer full-spectrum reproductive health services that reflect the realities of the families they serve. Their care extends beyond the clinic, rooted in a deep understanding of what it takes to thrive—because they live and work in the very neighborhoods they serve.

We know that 80% of health outcomes are shaped by factors like housing, food access, and income. That’s why these midwives are also advocates, organizers, and bridge-builders, addressing the social determinants that impact well-being with culturally grounded, community-based solutions.

But despite their proven impact, these providers are chronically underfunded. The systems they operate in weren’t built to support them—and too often, traditional funding models lack the flexibility, trust, and long-term commitment needed for this work to grow.

At Orchid Capital Collective, we’re working to change that.

By mobilizing capital and investing in care infrastructure, we help ensure these providers can stay rooted, scale their impact, and shape the future of reproductive and economic justice.

We invest capital in community-rooted ventures growing access to just and sustainable birth and reproductive care.

We’re reimagining a more sustainable reproductive care infrastructure that not only improves health outcomes, but facilitates a future where all people experience choice, respect, and dignity in their care, regardless of where they live.

building a capital bridge

Using strategic, catalytic funding, ecosystem partnerships, capacity-building resources, and technical assistance, we fund ventures that improve reproductive health, support families, and address systemic inequities within their local communities.

  • Providing capital to secure real estate and land to anchor care spaces in their communities, prevent displacement, steward revitalization, and ensure long-term sustainability.

  • Investing in the cooperative healing, organizing, training, and financial structures that build pathways to midwifery, doula, and community-based healthcare workforce development.

  • Funding social enterprises offering operational infrastructure, digital tools, products, and services that improve care delivery and build economic power.

This regenerative and diversified approach ensures our investments go beyond financial returns to create lasting community impact.
