about us
Orchid joins a growing movement holding reproductive justice as a human right, and building local power and sovereignty by resourcing proven models of care, grounded in trust and cultural safety.

purpose
we invest in ecosystems where reproductive care, economy and community meet.

our roots & commitments
Tenesha Duncan founded Orchid after witnessing how systemic exclusion and chronic underfunding forced reproductive care leaders and organizations into silos and cycles of burnout, trauma, and financial precarity. Orchid was born to change this reality by building funding infrastructure to transition from stagnant, extractive funding principles and practices to coordinated, reparative action for reproductive and economic justice.
We are building a new ecosystem where capital is a tool for care that considers what organizations and communities actually need, and supports them to have the time and flexibility to innovate and build resilient, generational strategies.
We are committed to a future where care is the priority, not profit. By investing in community-owned spaces and care infrastructure, we plant deep roots that can weather economic and political shifts, opening pathways for resilience, innovation, and connection. This sustained commitment builds a care system where high-quality, dignified care is the foundation of well-being.
we are interdependent
Our work begins and grows through relationships across people and ecosystems. We show up for and depend on one another because our strength comes from collective care, accountability, and success.
power grows at the edges
The solutions we need often exist beyond what we see in front of us. We invest in power and possibility by supporting what works and what is undervalued.
we lead with reciprocity
Capital should help, not harm. We move resources to ensure mutual care, autonomy and well-being remain at the center of investment and collaboration.
